Zehnder America at the International Passive House Conference

5/16/2012

Barry Stephens, National Sales & Marketing Manager at ZehnderAmerica, Inc was in Hanover, Germany to attend the International Passive House Conference. Barry attended many relevant sessions regarding ventilation in Passive House dwellings and spent time at the Paul H/ERV booth there. Here are some highlights from his time at the conference: Barry attended the Introduction to Passive House course on Wednesday, and had the pleasure of discussions over lunch with Wolfgang Feist regarding the development of the North American market, and the need for certified H/ERVs in the application of the PHPP for Passive House modeling. There were several great presentations on ventilation for both residential and commercial buildings. The Zehnder design protocol was reinforced, and ideas for applications for schools, offices and multi-family projects were discussed. Interesting evening events allowed attendees to mingle, meet and share ideas, not to mention sampling some great German brews! The Paul booth, with the highest efficiency H/ERVs in the market, was busy, and Barry met some enthusiastic Passive House consultants from the USA and Canada. The overall theme, that Passive Houses are relevant in climates across the globe, was well presented. Zehnder was featured in presentations on projects across North America, Europe and the Far East. We will look forward to the 2013 International Passive House Conference.
